Miss Real Estate

i have a friend who is in real estate. so let us just call her Miss Real Estate. Ms Real for short.

Ms Real seems busy 24/7. maybe she is… maybe she isnt. that is not up to me to judge.

however, being a former school teacher, i fully understand the meaning of the word busy. as much as i tried to be unbusy, efforts often fall flat and in vain. the shackles of work just wonder give me my liberation. furthermore, i am the least busy of the staff in the roster. this i can attest to.

so my friend, you are only busy as you make yourself to be.

nevertheless, that is not my point of contention.

my point of contention is (and this i found out from another close friend), was how happy she felt that i (and a few other friends)did not succeed abroad. i was told that when it was known that this friend was coming home (as in Singapore), Ms Real became excited at the fact that all the efforts made abroad were in vain. it wouldnt be surprising if Ms Real had harboured similar feelings upon my return.

furthermore, Ms Real has this opinion that by going abroad, we have abandoned our responsibilities at home.

true.

however, she does not see the notion that if we make it abroad that would be the source of pride and joy for all and an elevation of our current eco-social status. it is a sacrifice. it is not all a bed of roses out there. life is tougher in a foreign land. it is even tougher when you dont have a rich daddy… i dont. neither do they. and it was tough as hell and hail.

it is sad when friends succumb by the jaws of envy.

it is sad indeed.

my friend, that immaculate suit of yours is tainted by the color green.
